  • Overview

    The principal strategy development specialist is the subject matter expert, navigating multiple, complex data sources. She or he provides high-quality, timely and actionable data to help esecutive and senior leaders make better-informed decisions by producing operational, financial, effectiveness and market intelligence data by discovering and querying repositories and other sources. The analyst also interprets data, formulates reports and makes recommendations based upon the research findings. This effort requires the application of qualitative and quantitative techniques, including predictive analysis, to interpret the data and produce substantiated recommendations. The analyst further devises methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources. At this career level, the incumbent provides highly competent leadership in the conduct of major, complex business intelligence projects. Further, he or she frequently coaches and oversees the work of other analysts and related staff and provides expertise across levels and disciplines.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
    • Lead projects that require the high level use of predictive analytics to create complex models that will reliably predict the outcome or prescribe treatments of major marketing initiatives, large child development programs, and other enterprises or interventions.
    • Responsible for the collection, curation and analysis of internal and external data.
    • Internal Strategic Analyst will focus on internal sources of data related to products, pricing, customers, capabilities, etc. 
    • Processes, analyzes and interprets data based on a deep understanding of existing business processes and industry knowledge.
    • Develops systems for collecting and reporting data.
    • Provides reporting and dashboards to help the organization monitor the current state of the business and how strategic decisions will impact it.
    • Uses data to create narratives that give business leaders insights about new trends as well as areas the organization may need to improve upon.
    • Leads the mining of research data from available internal sources, industry major reports, public information, detailed field reports, or purchased sources with revenue generation of effectiveness strategy and business result implications. Further tests are conducted or coordinated to ensure that data is valid and consistent with defined needs.
    • Conducts in-depth data review using traditional and advanced methods, including detailed, complex statistical techniques, and performs highly complex analyses and prepares forecasts and recommendations in the areas of program efficacy, enriched revenue generation, market penetration, market practices, competitive strategies, and program enhancements.
    • Based on predictive analytics, authors major reports profiling and predicting outcomes related to marketing, program, financial, or economic issues for review by executives, managers, and other stakeholders, involving making live presentations, answering questions, and instilling confidence in stakeholders.
    • Guides teams that maintain business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methods, including the creation or review of technical design documentation to ensure the accurate development of reporting solutions.
    • As the subject matter expert, provides high level technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools or systems, including design of related databases, spreadsheets, or outputs, as well as maintain a library of model documents, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets.
    • Frequently coaches, provides expertise, and may oversee the work of other professionals and support staff in the department or division.
    • Ensures that assigned subordinates maintain a knowledge level to understand, define and document the overarching business objectives, as well as the ability to apply qualitative and quantitative techniques, inlcuding predictive analysis, to interpret the data and produce substantiated recommendations.

    • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or related discipline

    Work Experience

    • Fifteen years Professional experience working in market research, statistical analysis, business intelligence or similar field, involving data modeling, data mining, or data science. Experience using statistical analysis/programming tools such as SAS, SPSS, or R.

    Licenses and Certifications

    • Certified Business Intelligence Professional of Certified Market Research Analyst Designation.

    Working Environment: Office – Standard Office Environment

    Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day

    Travel Requirements: May be required to travel up to 10% of normal schedule
