  • Overview

    Th Senior Director of Strategy Planning and Execution leads long-term strategy development and integrated planning that supports growth, including global investment variability over time that aligns to explicit strategic choices. The leader motivates and leads a team of professionals who inform and administer strategy inputs, processes and tools that support the design, planning, and review of strategy across the global enterprise, supporting and managing strategic initiatives and providing advice for specific initiatives, enabling the ministry to succeed.

    Essential Job Functions

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
    • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
    • Leads an objective, neutral team with ability to influence & challenge key decisions made by global leaders.
    • Leads cross functional team to complete due diligence efforts for potential partnerships, mergers and acquisitions.
    • Focuses executive energy and conversations on achieving long term vs. short term results.
    • Ensures that enterprise-wide integrated planning aligns to strategic decisions across the organization.
    • Develops methods for measuring and monitoring progress on the multiyear strategy.
    • Actively monitors operational execution to ensure alignment of activities, actions and resources to strategic decisions.
    • Provides an outside-in perspective for decision making, intentionally seeking external market customer and environmental evidence to pair with internal intelligence.
    • Leads due diligence efforts in potential mergers and acquisitions.
    • Coordinate alliances & partnerships that provide critical strategic impact across multiple groups – including clarifying the purpose, approach and governance.
    • Compiles or prepares and administers the annual budget and departmental expenses, ensuring accountability for on-time completion of deliverables based on enterprise strategick objectives. 
    • Selects, manages and develops assigned staff, establishing goals and objectives, coaching and managing performance, including discipline, motivation, and annual reviews; supports continuous learning and development that enhances individual performance and organizational capability.

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree Business, Quality Management, or related discipline


    Work Experience

    • Relevant work experience required to enable the individual to be able to successfully perform the job as listed.


    Licenses and Certifications

    • Strategic Management Professional Certification.

    Working Environment: Office – Standard Office Environment

    Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day

    Travel Requirements: May be required to travel up to 25% of normal schedule
