  • Overview

    Leads complex monitoring and evaluation initiatives that evaluate all Global Program locations. Serves as a subject matter expert and helps to establish benchmarks and standards for analysis and reporting within this discipline. This includes strong analysis skills and creating monitoring and evaluation frameworks for organizational programs and new initiatives. Leads or conducts major, complex monitoring and evaluation programs and initiatives for multiple countries. Often coaches and oversees the work of other specialists and related staff as both a technical advisor and thought leader.

    Essential Job Functions


    • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
    • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
    • Supports overall holistic child development and provides ongoing subject matter expertise in using high quality data to measure program inputs, outputs, outcomes. Aids partnership facilitators, program support team and church partners by providing coaching and knowledge within monitoring and evaluation. Serves as a champion in field of expertise and develops education for others regarding industry standards, national policies and best practices.
    • Provides leadership and guidance to the development and implementation of tools and instruments for organization-wide use that enable the partners and the program team to conduct empirical assessment through baseline surveys at the onset of partnerships and use the similar instruments to keep track of progress through generation of monitoring and evaluation reports, analyzes high quality baseline/needs assessment data to inform program design.
    • Leads the development and adoption of partner compliance and adherence to standards, procedures, and policies related to program quality. Collaborates with program leaders to provide direction and subject matter expertise regarding intervention milestones realization, financial report status, child development milestone monitoring, partner maturity progress and such other programmatic aspects that would lead to the realization of partnership outcomes across a broad scale or assigned region.
    • Monitors partnership dashboards to track critical program dimensions and performance and enables the National Office to see meaningful improvements or decline in performance. Serves as an expert resource regarding complex analysis and interpretation of dashboard metrics movement and regularly presents results to program leaders.
    • Manages and may lead complex budgeting and planning efforts for baseline surveys and other monitoring and evaluation activities across multiple countries/regions. Triangulates Monitoring & Evaluation data with internal Program Effectiveness Research department studies as well as external peer reviewed studies to provide robust organizational recommendations on correlations of program data.
    • Coaches and provides expertise, and may oversee the work of other professionals and support staff in the monitoring and evaluation discipline.

    • Bachelor's Degree in related field.

    Work Experience

    • Ten years' experience working in this or similar position or field

    Licenses and Certifications

    • Certification in profession from nationally or internationally recognized organization, or similar credential.

    Working Environment: Office – Standard Office Environment

    Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day

    Travel Requirements: May be required to travel up to 25% of normal schedule
