  • Overview

    This role is responsible for enabling Compassion USA to meet and exceed industry-leading growth by identifying, socializing and leading activation of actionable insights via data, analytics, and market research. This role leverages competitive, market and supporter attitudes, behaviors, emotions and trends to drive strategic business decisions. Servant leadership and influence will be required to inspire marketing teams to activate supporter insights that are customized to core channels and supporter segments, and encourage new frontiers of knowledge. This leader will oversee a multi-disciplinary organization responsible for designing and executing market research studies, overseeing data integrity, developing reports, conducting data extractions for marketing campaigns, designing optimal campaign reporting, and advancing the organization’s data science savviness in the form of predictive analytics and artificial intelligence. The profile requires a rich convergence of intellectual aptitude, demonstrative experience in designing and enriching consumer segmentation, leading diverse talents while inspiring ministry growth and supporter value.

    Essential Job Functions

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
    • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
    • Provides leadership, planning and consultation to subordinates, executives, and peer management in the successful alignment of assigned department resources to ensure achievement of operational priorities and initiatives, integrating priorities within organizational strategies to ensure that department's purpose is fulfilled.
    • Compiles or prepares and administers the annual budget and departmental expenses, ensuring accountability for on-time completion of deliverables based on department objectives, SLAs, and other Compassion standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and board policies.
    • Selects, manages and develops assigned staff, establishing goals and objectives, coaching and managing performance, including discipline, motivation, and annual reviews; supports continuous learning and development that enhances individual performance and organizational capability.
    • Provides high-level direction and leadership to a team of subordinate managers who oversee research projects to process and analyze large, complex sets of both qualitative and quantitative data and develop complex research reports and presentations tailored to audiences of managers and senior leaders, and major stakeholders. Further, works through subordinate managers to provide direction to the process of managing project specifications, assignments, and deadlines to deliver quality output and maintain project time lines for multiple internal clients.
    • Directs the Market Research function to perform a broad range of complex data collection and analysis activities, on both qualitative and quantitative projects, which may include leading focus groups, conducting in-person or phone interviews, writing and conducting surveys, performing open-end coding/content analyzes, and conducting various statistical analyzes such as frequencies and other data summaries, etc.
    • Through subordinate managers, drives the design of complex research reports on large, concurrent, projects with international scope and impact and coaches the delivery of presentations to senior leaders and executives that are concise, compelling, and targeted to key research objectives to deliver actionable insights to internal clients and groups. Further, drives the team to acquire and utilize project management and consulting skills to keep projects on scope, on budget, and on schedule.
    • At a high level, forges partnerships with market research firm leaders to best serve internal clients. Works through subordinate managers to direct and oversee the determination regarding which research projects can be accomplished in-house and which projects are best conducted externally.
    • Provides direction and leadership to subordinate managers to ensure that the Market Research department is equipped to expand and refine market-research expertise, through on-the-job learning opportunities, external training, and studying Market Research literature to stay current with industry trends and developments as well as increase contributions to Compassion's research function.

    Education

    • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's Degree in this or related field.


    Work Experience

    • Relevant work experience required to enable the individual to be able to successfully perform the job as listed.


    Licenses and Certifications

    • Certification in profession from nationally or internationally recognized organization, or similar credential.
