  • Overview

    This career technician provides skilled quality services in all areas of audiovisual programs including live presentation support for corporate events. The technician further provides technical support for large presentations and performs building services such as cable installations on major projects. He or she may coach and oversee the work of other technicians.

    Essential Job Functions


    • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
    • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
    • Provides full technical presentation and audiovisual services for Chapel and other productions, including, following a tag sheet outline, setting up auditorium audio and video equipment, receiving and loading completed PowerPoint from presenters, ensuring equipment runs properly (testing in advance), and coordinating staff and volunteers for production of mission related events. Performs event evaluation with key stakeholders to ensure performance expectations are met.
    • Maintains technical presentation equipment by ensuring that supporting supplies are at established service levels and troubleshooting malfunctions. Performs corrections and repairs of user-serviceable equipment.
    • Prioritizes technology service requirements, based on urgency, impact, and available resources by effectively utilizing corporate software applications (currently Gateway to Service) to manage, communicate, and evaluate departmental services.
    • Performs level one video production and editing requests. Edits internal meeting videos such as chapel services, and large meetings for internal groups with a focus on international business partners.
    • Responds to service requests, satisfying the audiovisual needs for Compassion events. Sets-up equipment, renders technical support, service support, and systems integration.
    • Performs level one cable pulls of low voltage structured cabling.
    • May occasionally provide some general administrative support.
    • Manages vendor relationships to ensure effective partnership between vendors and Compassion (including international vendor relations).
    • Provides coaching and technical advice to other staff.

    • Accountable for supporting, upholding, and engaging in Compassion's core "Cultural Behaviors" in all internal and external communication and relationships.


    • High School Diploma Business Administration, Technology, or related discipline. 

    Work Experience

    • Five years Experience working in an environment using audiovisual or similar technology preferred. 
    • Strong audio engineering and lighting experience. 

    Licenses and Certifications

    • None.

    Working Environment: Office – Standard Office Environment. 

    Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day. 

    Travel Requirements: Less than 20%

    Other: This position requires that the applicant/employee personally drives a Compassion owned or leased vehicle as an essential job function of the position. Any job offer and continued employment in a position where driving is an essential function, is contingent upon both possession of a valid driver's license and continued monitoring of the employee’s driving abilities and MVR.
