  • Overview

    The ServiceNow Developer II is responsible for the lifecycle of corporate-wide and customer-specific technology based products. This specialist will be responsible for custom application design and development of entities, ensuring components meet business requirements and are ready for production environments.  This role will aid and assist the Office of Risk Management leadership team as it pertains to ServiceNow Scripting tools and ServiceNow functionality to create scripts to automate tasks.  This includes support of integration into Incident, Service Catalog, Change, Problem, Knowledge, Asset and Configuration Management.


    Essential Job Functions


    • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
    • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
    • Create technical architecture, design, test and user guide documentation in ServiceNow.

    • Possess expert Java Scripting knowledge, including expert debugging knowledge.

    • Familiarity with service management processes (ITILv2/3 Normal Incident, MIM, Problem, Knowledge, Change) in ServiceNow or equivalent platforms.

    • Support the development and configuration of a number of areas including, Knowledge, Risk, Audit, Policy (Governance, Risk and Compliance)

    • Conducts application software development services and technical support for existing architecture or new deployments. Gathers requirements and develops specifications to integrate applications. Adheres to approved standards in software development.
    • Utilizes simple program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications.
    • Codes, tests, including writing test plans, debugs, documents, implements and maintains software applications. Maintains functionality through code customization and application configuration.
    • Implements strategies around existing technology products to ensure these products produce expected results and benefit to customers.
    • Provides technical services throughout the lifecycle of customer-specific technology based products. Primarily works with Cloud or Purchased applications.
    • Participates on cross-functional project teams as a key resource on data processes, data governance, and application systems.
    • May provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the applications development discipline.

    • Bachelor's Degree Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Software Development or related discipline

    Work Experience

    • Three to five years of experience in implementation and design of ServiceNow or equivalent platforms.

    Licenses and Certifications

    • Generally not required.

    Working Environment: Office – Standard Office Environment

    Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day

    Travel Requirements: May be required to travel up to 10% of normal schedule

    Other: This position may be required to serve in an “on-call” capacity in order to provide timely response to technology failures outside of standard business hours.
