  • Overview

    As a member of the Volunteer Mobilization Team, provides administrative support for Compassion USA’s Event Volunteer Program, consisting of a team of six Regional Event Volunteer Managers responsible for implementing volunteer recruitment and engagement efforts for USA Marketing’s live Compassion-partnered events.

     

    Please note: This position is based at the Global Ministry Center in Colorado Springs. Only local applicants will be considered.

     

    Essential Job Functions

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
    • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
    • Provides support to the managers and national Volunteer Coordinators by researching information, answering detailed questions, and explaining processes. Assists in on-boarding and training new Volunteer Coordinators.
    • Performs skilled support work entering detailed electronic data, researching, retrieving, and formatting information and data using Salesforce and Forms Admin.
    • Serves as a subject matter expert for program related processes, systems, and applications such as Salesforce, Office 365 email, Forms Admin, etc.
    • Drafts and/or proofreads communications, documents, or forms and other correspondence, which may be confidential in nature. Often schedules team meetings, records meeting minutes, and prepares agendas and itineraries.
    • Serves as a back-up for managers when they're out of the office: on weekly calls with Channel Marketing Teams; for regional events; and as a Volunteer Coordinator for events.
    • May serve as a back-up for other team members in their absence.
    • May order supplies or services, arrange for shipping or transportation, or provide other logistical services. 
    • May perform light manual labor such as delivering office supplies, arranging chairs, and setting up refreshments or brochures and displays. 
    • Travels to and helps with 1-2 events per year.

    Education

    • High School Diploma 


    Work Experience

    • Experience as an administrative assistant supporting multiple managers required.

    Working Environment: Position offers Alternative Work Environment

    Physical Demands: Sitting/standing for up to 8 hours per day

    Travel Requirements: 1-2 domestic trips per year
