  • Overview

    This senior administrator leads the design, administration, and support of server based systems infrastructure for Compassion as well as field offices and partner countries. The specialist further develops other infrastructure systems support such as network support, server support, resource management, and disaster recovery. At this career level, the incumbent leads or conducts major, complex system administration projects and initiatives for multiple countries. Further, she or he often coaches and oversees the work of other administrators and related staff.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
    • Understanding of LEAN / Agile Methodologies
    • In-depth Data/Information Security (Roadmap/Policies/Procedures)
    • Payment Card Industry (PCI) Experience
    • Global Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) Experience
    • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
    • Network Infrastructure & Security
    • Active Directory Management
    • Apple/MAC product Management
    • SCCM experience. Large software management and deployment technologies
    • Customer Interaction Center (Call Center Phone System Configuration & Support)
    • Leads the configuration, installation, maintenance and upgrades of complex computer systems hardware and software, including writing advanced scripts to manage IT infrastructure
    • Leads and maintains security of all operating systems.
    • Ensures timely file or system restoration by leading the implementation and testing of appropriate backup and disaster recovery procedures.
    • Provides expert support for the organization's information systems and peripheral equipment, such as application servers, database servers, web servers, desktops, printers and storage devices.
    • Accepts, manages and resolves technical escalations demonstrating good communication, leadership and expert troubleshooting skills.
    • Forecasts and manages increases in systems capacity in a timely manner to ensure adequate availability of resources with minimal end-user disruption.
    • Benchmarks, analyzes, leads and reports on the implementation of performance improvements and growth of IT network infrastructure and IT network systems.
    • Coaches and provides expertise, and may oversee the work of other professionals and support staff in the system administration discipline.

    • Bachelor's Degree Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Disaster & Emergency Management or related discipline

    Work Experience

    • Ten years Professional experience working in system administration or similar field.

    Licenses and Certifications (preferred)

    • Certified System Administrator or similar credential.
    • CISSP
    • MCSE
    • CISCO
    • Juniper
    • Other IT Security/Firewall certifications

    Working Environment: Office – Standard Office Environment

    Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day

    Travel Requirements: May be required to travel up to 10% of normal schedule

    Other: This position may be required to serve in an “on-call” capacity in order to provide timely response to technology failures outside of standard business hours.
