Overview

Supports the Senior Director for Leadership and Staff Development with administering the Leadership Development and Staff Engagement initiatives. Assists with and provides input for analysis and administration in leadership and staff development programs/projects. Works in areas such as budget preparation and tracking, process management, purchasing, communications and change, program implementation, project management, development, data research, analysis, business intelligence, and tracking, and/or information management. May accomplish any or all of the essential functions or other duties of a professional administrative nature. 

Essential Job Functions

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
  • Assists with review of business processes to identify activities required to address the issues, including process steps and impact assessment to increase productivity and efficiency. Prepares supporting documentation such as presentations, future state maps, and business requirements.
  • Assists with preparing the department budget and tracks expenditures and variances to keep the department in budget. Informs management of variances and corrective recommendations.
  • Gathers basic business data such as project costs or process metrics, analyzes the information, and presents reports based on this analysis. Serves as a project coordinator to keep assigned projects progressing toward established goals and deadlines.
  • Prepares and relays communications concerning business operations and outcomes to appropriate audiences. Further, supports change integration across the scope of own assigned projects. Encourages change adoption across common audiences as needed.
  • Helps train and advise stakeholders on processes and guidelines related to the group or program projects.
  • Assists in the development of effective metrics for ministry operations and maintains data/metrics, dashboards, tools, and artifacts to provide up-to-date status of group projects, processes, and initiatives.
  • Partners with other groups when required to integrate information and processes across functions. Provides assistance to various projects as assigned in support of the work of Business Support management.
  • Provides support to local leadership development events (US based) and is primary point of contact for international event coordinators, and facilitators.
  • Maintains essential databases related to leadership initiatives.
  • Maintains essential document and manuals related to leadership and staff development initiatives.

Qualifications

Faith

  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree 


Work Experience

  • Experience supporting a team preferred.

Working Environment: Office – Standard Office Environment

Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day

Travel Requirements: May be required to travel up to 10% of normal schedule

  • Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within a job discipline.
