This intermediate developer is responsible for the lifecycle of corporate-wide and customer-specific Cloud technology. The specialist further works with other third-party systems and develops necessary custom entities, ensuring components meet business requirements and are ready for production environments. At this career level, the incumbent works on moderately complex development projects as a team member. He or she may coach other specialists.

Essential Job Functions


  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
  • As a Salesforce Developer, you will work side-by-side with your Product Owner to ensure timely and effective delivery of Salesforce solutions for the business’s requirements. The ideal candidate is a diligent, hardworking individual who is able to learn new systems and processes rapidly, can work with little supervision, and is capable of delivering outstanding work at all times.
  • Conducts application software development services and technical support for existing architecture or new deployments. Gathers requirements and develops specifications to integrate applications. Adheres to approved standards in software development.
  • Utilizes simple program logic for new applications or analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications.
  • Codes, tests, including writing test plans, debugs, documents, implements and maintains software applications. Maintains functionality through code customization and application configuration.
  • Implements strategies around existing technology products to ensure these products produce expected results and benefit to customers.
  • Provides technical services throughout the lifecycle of customer-specific technology based products. Primarily works with Cloud or Purchased applications.
  • Participates on cross-functional project teams as a key resource on data processes, data governance, and application systems.
  • May provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the applications development discipline.

  • Bachelor's Degree Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Disaster & Emergency Management or related discipline

Work Experience

Three years or more of professional experience working in applications development, preferably with SalesForce Apex

2 or more years of development experience with Apex, VisualForce and

Expertise implementing in both Sales Cloud and Service Cloud

Knowledge of Salesforce products and licensing models

Salesforce Development/Customizations (APEX, Visual Force, API, Workflows)

Familiarity with best practices, support mechanisms, procedures and limitations is required

Experience with management of sandboxes, including their integrations

Thorough understanding of application development, project lifecycle and methodologies

Ability to analyze complex systems as well as troubleshoot and isolate system issues.

Ability to work well in a team environment

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Licenses and Certifications

Admin and Platform Development I & II Certifications

Working Environment: Office – Standard Office Environment

Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day

Travel Requirements: May be required to travel up to 10% of normal schedule
