Overview

Reporting to the Vice President of Global Corporate Communications, the senior manager, GME Communications supports the Senior Vice President of Global Marketing & Engagement (GME) and their team with communications strategy and execution that build consensus and collaboration across GME, the Global Partner Alliance (GPA) CEOs and their executive teams and USA senior leadership. These communications cast vision and spur strategies that support product development, help achieve acquisition, engagement and revenue metrics and create understanding and acceptance of corporate behaviors, values and brand. Coaches senior executives, team members and other key stakeholders on communication practices that drive awareness, understanding and engagement. Oversees the design, development, integration, execution and measurement of global communications strategies and plans supporting GME programs and priorities. This person will oversee 2+ supporting GME Division Communications roles that will be defined in the Q1/Q2 Fiscal Year 2018 GME communications realignment conducted by the Global Leadership Office Division organizational development. 

Essential Job Functions

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to the GME Leadership Team. Works with the team to understand their business and operational priorities, then develops a communications strategy and plan, in alignment with overall ministry objectives, to drive awareness and engagement across GME, GPA, USA and where necessary, all global staff.
  • Serves on cross-functional teams supporting Compassion International objectives, providing a GME perspective. Anticipates and recommends communications needs based on cross-functional information. Keeps GME leadership informed on learnings.
  • Designs and leads the execution of global GME and/or USA-based town hall-style forums and digital communications events.
  • Collaborates with the Senior Principal, PR/Crisis Communications, to leverage the Senior Vice President, GME and other key GME leaders to support external media and public relations activities that promote GME and Compassion International objectives. Develops content and coordinates use in Compassion International Speakers Bureau.
  • Develops speeches, presentations, articles, sermons and other communications vehicles as requested by the SVP.
  • Develops governance around communications for GME operational processes, coordinating with other communicators as appropriate.
  • Works with Global Corporate Communications (GCC) Team to coordinate GME communications with other ministry communication efforts and processes. Leverages full GCC resources on behalf of GME communications needs.
  • Develops GME content strategy and supporting information for Compassion’s internal communications platform, including GME service directories and collaboration venues.

EDUCATION

  • Four-year degree in communications, media, public relations or related field



EXPERIENCE

  • 10-years in communications, public relations, media, or a related field including speech- and editorial writing. Background in language, strategies and goals of marketing, advertising or direct response very valuable.
