Overview

Responsible for commitment, one-on-one communication and donation processing for Compassion USA’s Korean-speaking supporters. Performs data entry, sets up EFT and credit card payment information, and communicates with Korean Global Partner regarding commitment transfers and accounts. Processes US and Korean financial transactions, requests for resources, and commitments for sponsor/child relationship for Compassion's constituents with accuracy and timeliness. Allocates donations and commitments to appropriate funds and accounts. Performs daily tasks using various complex computer systems that require a high attention to detail. Must be fluent in Korean and English.

Essential Job Functions

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
  • Initiates and maintains constituent accounts with the main focus being Korean sponsorships, including registering new Korean-speaking sponsors via phone and entering commitments into Salesforce. Researches and resolves account problems. Determines, establishes and adjusts sponsor-requested product and commitment levels, links sponsor to children and products in computer systems.
  • Applies sound judgment and discernment for most appropriate child selection and other essential research related issues regarding sponsor/child relationship.
  • Accurately researches data on checks, remittances, response coupons and other forms to discern and apply appropriate coding procedures for allocation of funds to constituent account, sponsorship and/or commitment.
  • Maintains security and accountability concerning Compassion's and sponsors' confidential information with integrity.
  • Completes training of foundational tasks related to team assignment within an established period of time
  • Assists with other Sponsor & Donor Processing (SDP) department tasks and Sponsor and Donor Services (SDS) tasks as assigned by supervisor or team lead.
  • Maintains high touch accounts and processes exception transactions that require deeper research, logic, analysis, and problem solving than regular transactions.
  • Initiates contact, verbal and/or written, with sponsors and donors discussing account or child information. Assists with inbound calls to Sponsor Donor Relations (SDR) when supporter preference is to speak in Korean language.
  • Promptly and accurately handles communication with Korean-speaking sponsors.

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma require; Bachelor's Degree preferred. 


EXPERIENCE

  • At least 1.5 years of data entry or financial experience.
  • Customer service experience preferred.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience and understanding of Korean culture, language and customs; strong keyboarding (at least 40wpm) and 10-key skills; ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products; aptitude for understanding manual and automated systems.
  • Must be fluent in Korean and English.



WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Office - sitting and/or standing for 8 hours per day.
