Overview

This career professional plans, designs, and develops integration architecture practices to further achievement of organizational objectives through the integration of various software and hardware. The specialist further ensures continual improvement of the integration practices throughout the organization. At this career level, the incumbent generally conducts integration projects independently or participates as a team member for major, complex, or international initiatives. He or she may coach and oversee the work of other architects.

Essential Job Functions

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
  • Collaborates with work teams to research and implement secure integrated systems that support organizational objectives and address release train demand. Skillfully balances tradeoffs between business and technical implications focusing on fit for purpose and cost to value solutions. Maintains a working technical understanding of all global systems, security and networks.
  • Implements continual improvements to Compassion’s architectural runway (applications, infrastructure and security). Utilizes technology roadmaps and furthers the management of the architectural runway. Collaborates with demand management teams providing insights and recommendations regarding economies of scale, technology product upgrades, and opportunities for technology retirement and technology global roadmap progress.
  • Utilizes work patterns and standards to speed the release train, reduce risk and gain economies of scale and promote technology re-use. Supports the adoption of Architecture Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), success measures and metrics.
  • Conducts the implementation of conceptual, logical, and physical architectures in accordance with company standards and requirements.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with technology standards that speed the release train and promote technology/investment reuse and security. Provides second-tier troubleshooting, redesign and solutions.
  • Maintains strong technical vendor relationships in coordination with Compassion procurement and Technical Product Management.  Assists in the evaluation of technology procurements to include evaluations based on ministry objectives, technical fit and cost benefit analysis.
  • May coach and provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the integration discipline.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Disaster & Emergency Management or related discipline


Work Experience

  • MicroService architecture at scale. 

  • Prefer familarity with using Docker and API gateways.

Working Environment: Office – Standard Office Environment

Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day

Travel Requirements: May be required to travel up to 10% of normal schedule
