Leads, enhances and executes mobilization marketing and communications campaign strategies to contribute to the achievement of acquisition and revenue, retention, and engagement goals. Manages partnerships and collaboration with other internal USA Marketing & Development teams to increase acquisition/revenue, retention, and engagement results associated with their relationships, opportunities, and events and to generate new leads for mobilization strategies. Develops external partnerships to acquire new avenues of revenues and sponsorship acquisition through grassroots efforts. Develops and implements ongoing strategies to continue to deepen the engagement of existing Compassion supporters and retain them in actions of fundraising, volunteering and sponsorship acquisition.

Essential Job Functions


  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
  • Directs and oversees the Mobilization Marketing Communications team, responsible for developing online and offline strategies, campaigns and communication plans for internal and external acquisiton and retention of mobilized supporters.
  • Directs Compassion’s Mobilization marketing communications strategy to drive increasing participation and retention among its supporters, from entry to major level of engagement, with the goal of reaching aggressive fundraising, sponsorship acquisition and volunteer engagement targets.
  • Partners with the Volunteer Mobilization team and the Mobilization Relations team to ensure that marketing strategy equips relationship management teams in the supporter journey, enhancing the supporter experience to drive retention and growth in financial contribution.
  • Leads the overall internal and external mobilization communications strategy to inspire and infuse mobilization and engagement opportunities as a way to deepen engagement with donors and supporters.
  • Fosters a strong customer service attitude in the management and support teams to ensure successful donor engagement campaigns and continued engagement with Compassion through intentional communication strategies and training/coaching resources.
  • Understands the USA communication strategy and campaign calendar and strategically integrate mobilization opportunities through various marketing and engagement channels.
  • Analyzes data and trends to drive marketing planning and ongoing adjustment of those plans in alignment with the Mobilization strategy and goals.
  • Achieves Mobilization and USA Marketing & Development goals for engagement activity, retention, sponsorship acquisition and fund raising in Compassion’s core Child Sponsorship program and complementary interventions across multiple sector strategies. In conjunction with other department directors, develops and implements a strategic plan that takes Compassion’s message to the most amenable audiences using the best resources and techniques to help ensure long term involvement with the ministry.
  • As a Subject Matter Expert for the Act for Compassion mobilization platform, oversees online strategy to create and refine a strong UI/UX that engages new and existing supporters in their online and offline peer-to-peer campaigns as well as creating strong content and re-engagement strategies that deliver against the Mobilization goals.
  • Proactively coordinates with USA Marketing & Development teams to create opportunities for new and existing donors to increase acquisitions and revenue and generate marketing leads for and from those teams. Provides oversight in participation and strategic support to the marketing campaigns, strategies, and initiatives of USA Marketing & Development teams.
  • Understands the value and equip high impact leadership volunteers to serve volunteers as a front line mobilization strategy. These leadership activists are responsible for motivating, resourcing and mentoring donors to result in successful fundraising intiatives to reach overarching Mobilization and USA Marketing & Development goals.



Job Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing required.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience leading a successful fundraising marketing team and strategies.
  • Other Required Skills: Experience in Peer to Peer Marketing, Mobilization Strategies or Participation programming.

Travel Requirements: 

  • May be required to travel up to 20% of normal schedule
