This position is responsible to grow and deliver revenue and engaged supporters for Compassion in the Philippines. This includes all phases of acquisition, retention, and engagement of local sponsors and donors in support of the global goals and objectives of Global Marketing and Engagement.

Essential Job Functions



  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Acts as an advocate for children – raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one’s influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
  • Under the direction of the GME Global Initiatives Director, establishes robust marketing and engagement strategies and plans to advance the mission of Compassion International to potential Filipino sponsors and donors and position Compassion as a charity of choice in the Philippines.
  • In collaboration with the Philippines Country Director, identifies, establishes and cultivates key relationships with highly influential local individual donors, corporations and foundations with the purpose of building partnerships that result in sustainable funding streams. Speaks on behalf of Compassion in a variety of public and private venues as needed.
  • Converts global marketing and engagement strategies to localized tactics for the Philippines market. Consistently analyzes results, interprets trends, provides direction and suggests adjustments to deliver optimum results to both the fund-raising goals as well as supporter experience.
  • Works collaboratively with the GME Global Product and Brand Director, the GME Digital Marketing Manager, and other GME resources to effectively market CI products and ensure brand compliance while supporting the local cultural context.
  • Responsible to grow and sustain annual revenue to $1.3 million and child sponsorships to 5,000 within three years. Sets and meets the net growth and revenue goals annually, based on local market research and global CI objectives.
  • Oversees and ensures the appropriate accounting, recording and disbursement of all contributions, income, and expenses. Coordinates back office support with GME.
  • Directs all aspects of the day-to-day marketing operations in the Philippines, which may include supervision of paid or unpaid staff, record keeping, communication with CI leadership as well as other CI offices or departments. Works closely with GME to minimize the operational footprint in country.



  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Education: Bachelor's degree Marketing, Communications, Business / International Business, or related discipline. Equivalent education, experience, training, and certification may be substituted for education. MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 10 years of marketing experience in the Philippines; non-profit experience a plus; proven leadership in a marketing or development organization or department. Experience with a start-up of an NGO and the proven capacity to successfully apply new business models to marketing are desired.

  • Other Required Skills: Ability to read, write and communicate effectively and persuasively in English as well as native country language. Must be able to mix with and influence people at a variety of economic, social, cultural and professional levels. Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, initiatives or deliverables. Experience or familiarity with digital marketing strategies and platforms.
